WHAT IS THE STANDING LONG JUMP?
The Standing Long Jump or more commonly known as the Broad Jump is a commonly used fitness test to test a participants explosive leg power, and is commonly used in the NFL Draft Combine for new players wanted to achieve their dreams in the big league. The only equipment needed is measuring tape to measure the metres jumped, markers to mark the beginning of the jump and a non-slip surface (optional).
PROCEDURE OF THE STANDING LONG JUMP:
The participant stands behind a marker (cone) placed on the ground with feet shoulder length apart. A two-foot takeoff and landing is used. Bending the knees and swinging the arms forward when you jump is a great technique often used by athletes attempting the Standing Long Jump. If the participant jumps and falls backwards, wherever the participant falls, that will be his score.
