WHAT IS THE MEDICINE BALL THROW?
The medicine ball throw is a fitness test to gather information on an individuals upper and lower body strength and ability. What you will need to participate in this test is a marker, a medicine ball, measuring tape and another person to calculate the result. You will have 2 turns of trying to throw a medicine ball as far as you can without bending your knees or stepping forward.
PROCEDURE OF MEDICINE BALL THROW:
The medicine ball throw test is very simple. You stand behind the marker, feet flat on the ground, get the medicine ball and bring it to your chest with your arms spread out and with all your strength you push, releasing the ball from your arms and letting it go. The more strength you possess can lead to how far the ball travels. Pretty simple, right?
In this image, you can clearly see the man bringing the ball to his chest. You can also see an error with his knees, they are bent, when they should be straight. He then releases it in the same position, flinging his arms outwards. You can see that his arms are brought in with the ball, which is the correct technique you need to be executing.
